I made a Swedish person in the supermarket splutter today by asking which one is the ordinary milk. I was scared because they all seemed to have pictures of fruit on the side, and because I know Swedes sometimes like to drink sour milk. I can't read the writing on the side, apart from the word for "milk" which is on every carton. Then a Swedish person made me splutter by grabbing the milk I had just bought. It turned out he was helping me pack but not before I had told him in a firm tone that the milk was mine. I also melted the handle of the coffee pot by using it on the hob as a kettle. I was just copying what I saw my housemate doing, but I missed a subtlety. There was a bad smell of plastic, and there is a humble apology ahead of me. All because I wanted a nice cup of tea. It's tough being a foreigner! Fortunately everybody is very friendly and understanding.
