The Carlings Family Band played again last night. They said they were going to play something "a bit more modern" which turned out to be rock blues. Only they don't have any electric guitars, so the lady used bagpipes instead. I urge you to try somehow at some point in your life to hear a screaming guitar solo played on bagpipes. Good luck with that. We had another lesson from Sugar and Barbara today. I'm getting the hang of this Ballroom thing they are teaching us, which turns out to be distinguishable both from Lindy Hop and from Blues. The basic step is step-tap, step-tap, step-step, step-tap. It's not difficult, and it's rather cool, and it is a neighbour of Lindy Hop, and it appears to be virtually unknown in the 21st Century. I'm considering teaching it at the Speakeasy in Cambridge.
