The mobile phone mast is glinting at me as I am sitting on the veranda of my new accommodation enjoying the evening sunshine. The garden furniture includes carpets and upholstered chairs. The flat is equipped with antique furniture and a Singer sewing machine, but no teabags. How do these people live?! Muharrem and Birgitta and Ossian were sorry to see me leave the other flat. I have left a 6-pack for Ossian to thank him for all the help he has given me. He even lent me a trolley to get my luggage and shopping over to the new flat. The beer is probably rubbish, but the choice in Herräng is limited. He was fast asleep in the sun when I left it. My new housemates seem nice. In addition to me and to head tenants Stephen and Tania there are four girls and one boy. All arrived today except me and one girl Jacinth who I already know from class and from the dance floor. She is currently cooking us some pasta with chicken, which is encouraging. :-) The bathroom is likely to be a bottleneck: one between eight people. Stephen and I are here until the end of the camp now. Tom Rees arrives in week 5.
