Practice with Sarah has becoming a regular fixture. So far we've covered: Sharon and Juan's mega-combo swingout variation; Remy and Jessica's rhythm variations; Matthias and Sandra's interrupted rock-step variations; and Matthias and Sandra's 6-count Texas Tommy into skating hold with weird footwork. Tomorrow we're planning to do Michael and Evita's crazy fast choreography. We're doing the rhythm variations every day in the hope that it becomes second nature. John is taking the staying-up-late contest very seriously. Last night he waited until I left at about 6:30am and then left 15 minutes later. Lame. The late night dancing is good fun. When there are only a few dozen people on the floor, you get to know them a bit, and you bump into them less. They tend to be pretty serious dancers too: mostly better than me, and some of them truly spectacular. But I don't feel any snobbishness. Everybody including me brings to the floor something that nobody else does. I'm still battling tiredness and experimenting with the alcohol and chocolate levels. Slow drag night again tonight. I'm off to Muharrem's flat first for cider and hopefully for supper too.
