Some unexpected things that Herräng excels at: - Skies, especially at sunrise. See the photos. - Wildlife. The number of species in a typical square metre is impressively high. I have photos of a slug, a snail, a frog, a large ant hill and a red squirrel, all of which I found accidentally. I wish I knew more about plants, birds and insects. - Phone reception. My battery lasts for days here. - Industrial archeology. There is a quarry, a number of disused mines, and a man-made desert with derelict machinery scattered around it. - Social problems. The crime rate, population, and population density are all very low, but Herräng nonetheless boasts drug addicts, a child molester and the occasional murder. Not much else to do, I suppose.
